Flashback Friday, to early April, 2020, a few weeks after the pandemic shut the world down. I stopped shaving and started playing a little more guitar. I always wanted to learn Gary Moore’s solo in Thin Lizzy’s ‘Black Rose’, so I learned the first section, the easy part. I was gonna learn the second part where Gary is playing the dueling guitar parts with different guitar tones, so it sounds like he’s trading licks with Scott Gorham, but it’s all Gary, trading licks with himself! Anyway, those parts were tricky and gonna take more time to learn, so I blew ‘em off and never learned them. I should learn them! Such an EPIC solo. Long live Gary Moore, one of the greatest of all time.
